The Norman Foster Foundation has been honoured with a BIG SEE Architecture Award 2026 for Gateway to Venice’s Waterway, in recognition of its vision to reimagine Venice’s transportation infrastructure.

Conceived as a modular transport hub in collaboration with Porsche AG, the project enhances connectivity across the city while preserving its historical and cultural identity. It integrates innovative electric mobility solutions for both water and land within a sustainable and forward-looking urban framework. The project was developed in collaboration with Porsche AG, BAU + EMPTY, Servizi Tecnici, AEROTROPE, SCHILLER and Frauscher Shipyard.

The BIG SEE Architecture Awards celebrate outstanding projects that demonstrate innovation, creativity and a positive impact on the built environment. The award will be presented at the BIG SEE Festival, taking place on 21–22 May 2026 in Portorož, Slovenia.
